Walk back along the paved road to a junction with a gravel road on the left. Turn left onto the grassy road at a gate. A triple-white blaze on the gate marks the start of the white-blazed School Mountain Road, and a triple-blue blaze marks the start of the blue-blazed Fahnestock Trail. Continue ahead on the road, which soon crosses two streams on wooden bridges built by civil engineering...

Round Hill Loop 5/6/18
An enjoyable hike. Some nice scenic mountain views, and a few pretty streams. At the start of the hike, the first of the steel plate bridges mentioned in Dan's hike description has been replaced by a beautiful wooden bridge. I think the best place for a break was the scenic stream at the base of the descent (see hike description). It was very buggy this time of year so don't forget the insect repellent. The lodge in the parking area has 2 picnic tables in a nice shady spot.
