Nice place, but a maze of trails.
I hiked this preserve on April 24, 2016. The highlight of the hike was the mansion ruins which is somewhat difficult to find. Maps are useless when most of the trails are missing blazes. It's a shame because if it was better maintained it would be a great place to hike. If you would like to see some photographs of the preserve and ruins go here: https://scenesfromthetrail.com/2016/04/24/muttontown-preserve/

Path not maintained
We went here and found the parking entrance was not accessible (the gate is chained closed). A friend in the area said there are some political reasons that this preserve is not maintained or accessible at this time. It looks like it would be beautiful to hike though.
