Morris preserves parcel that was once part of Hartley Farms, adds to Loantaka Brook Reservation

The Morris County Park Commission on Monday approved the $13.5 million purchase of 106 acres of land that once was part of the estate of the county's most prestigious family. . .

The land will be added to the 570-acre Loantaka Brook Reservation and will provide equestrian and hiking trails, and protection of valuable natural resources on the property.

Loantaka Brook is one of the county's busiest parks, with trails, equestrian activities centered at the nearby Seaton Hackney Stables, playing fields, and a playground.
